I was thinking about using chalk paint with a dark wax because the videos that i ve seen of really distressed tables etc.

I used a technique on my front door about 20 years ago that was a crackling paint.
I ve actually been happy with it but i m ready for a change and want to get rid of the dated color also.
Once i dipped the paint brush in the chalky finish i made sure to use up all the paint on the brush and blended it in as i went to get a brushed look.
For exterior use there is no need to add a top coat to the paint since chalk paint.
Much better than chalk paint.
I can also add behr to the list.
Rust will bleed through seven coats of paint so make sure if you have outdoor metal furniture that has rust seal it with rust oleum clean.
It is formulated for that use.

A sample pot of old white was dropped in july of 2012 on to the cement walkway outside my store.
Once the door was completed in romance i came through with the relic paint and again used the dry brush to apply to the door.
